Maibritt Amsler, who I came across in Illusive, a book from my collection. His designs are indeed modern but using 50s images, but also style a 50s style.

Really like these images, though would like to see them intergrated into poster designs, than just an illustration with a lot of surrounding white.

Use of bold circles and limited colours for strong contrast against the black and white images. Very eye catching.
